What can I expect when I visit?

/files/wcye_family3.jpgA warm but unintrusive greeting

We are committed to making sure your visit is as hassle free as possible. Greeters and ushers at the door will smile and offer you a program explaining what will be going on at Seaport. They are there if you need them, so ask them a question and see what they know. You may also stop by our Welcome Center for any additional information you may desire.

The Sunday morning experience

After you have checked your children into the nursery or your Sr. high teens have gone to their youth service, just make your way into the auditorium.  After the worship in song, children in the other age groups will be dismissed to their classes.  At 10 AM you will experience in a variety of ways:

  • A time of singing
We serve a Living God, who has captivated our hearts by His love. We let Him know that we appreciate who He is and what He has done by singing a few worship songs to and about Him.
  • A time of giving
God is doing great things through His people at Seaport Community Church! Those of us who believe in the way God is working through this church give of our resources to support what's happening. If you're visiting with us please consider the service a gift to you.

  • A time of strategic announcements
As a group of people who desire to make a positive difference in the world, it is important that we are all on the same page. At some point in the service we will communicate where we are going together.
  • A time to hear the good news
Someone will speak for about 30 minutes. It may be a guest speaker or staff member. About 90 percent of the time, it will be our Senior Pastor. We also communicate truths to support the theme of the day through drama, song, multimedia, and, well, come out for yourself and see how enjoyable it can be to learn!
  • A time of communion
Once a month we take time to remember that Jesus Christ loves us and forgives us for everything we've ever done wrong. He did this through His atoning death on the cross. Basically, we are made right with God by accepting Jesus sacrifice and by aligning our hearts with His desire for us. Eating the bread and drinking the juice reminds us of what Jesus did and how He backed His claims up by raising from the dead. It's a moving time that you may or may not choose to be a part of. That is up to you. Either way, the process will be explained clearly so that you will not feel awkward.

As our special guest, stop by the Welcome Center for your free gift for visiting with us if you care to. We will use your personal information you may choose to give us to better assist you, but it will not be shared with anyone except ministry personnel.  ALSO, stop in the Encounter Cafe for a beverage and a snack and meet some great people!
