The Seaport Story
Our dream was to create a church that was relevant to people's spiritual needs. After a great deal of prayer and research, a decision was reached to begin the church by calling every home in Groton to invite people.

Over several weeks a team of people made 22,154 calls and on Easter Sunday 1989, Seaport opened its doors with 207 in attendance. For the first 5 years we met in the facilities of Fitch Middle School, using other churches and buildings for events.

In February of 1994, we leased a former health club at 1101 Noank-Ledyard Road that served us well for over 9 years. You can imagine the excitement when in April 1997 we located a 25-acre parcel of land in Center Groton on which to build our new facility.

On August 17, 2003 we moved into this 22,000 square foot facility with seating for 400+. Today the church is growing as each Sunday sees several new families, military
personnel and  individuals who choose to stay with us.
